I was thinking of you when I started this project as I was interested in your pallet fork project. I still post things on here even without replies because this site is different in that a lot of people come here for specific issues with their bulldozers. i understand that and am not upset when my p...

I did a lot on this build today, and I did very little. Let me explain. I did not do very much on the actual build, but I dug out my T-Square and drafting set and laid out Front, Side and Overhead views of the 3 point hitch arrangement. This is the heart of the woodsplitter. Think of this whole buil...

Well I carved out an hour from my busy day and got to cutting a lot of the junk off from that old woodsplitter. I also got it divorced from the trailer it was attached too. That was not hard, it practically fell off, I guess that was what the rope was for. A lot easier to go and find a huge length o...

Upside Down Woodsplitter Project

A lot of people enjoy watching other people make home made projects and seeing the pictures as they progress in the project, so with Lavoy's permission, I thought I would keep you informed of my Upside Down Woodsplitter project. The whole concept of an upside down woodsplitter is simple: laziness. E...

True, but keep in mind steel lines are also part of the "cooling design". Exposed to atmosphere they cool the hydraulic system a lot better then lines sheathed in rubber. Though in honesty, it is probably not a huge concern on a dozer.

Yeah I made some drastic changes. The first was in changing how my chainsaw fit into a rack. My first was a wooden rack bolted to the back of the bulldozer. The problem with this is (as you know), bulldozers pitch and roll and worst on their ends. I now have my chainsaw rack beside my right foot whi...

But...the story continues. A few years ago a friend from church was like me and retired kind of early. I did so at 42, but he was in his late 30's. Anyway he was struggling a bit and I was working at the shipyard and had plenty of money so I stopped in and gave him some to get by. I never made a big...

John Deere 350D versus Chainsaw

Have you ever thought, "Gee I wonder what a Husqvarna 445 chainsaw would look like if it got run over by a John Deere 350D?" Well good news, because it just happens that I have pictures of just such a thing. Today, in my long lost quest to build a stump-bench in my new mudroom using a stump taken fr...

I never did any of the times it left. Quite a weapon though. Proud to say I worked on all three of them, but the first Zumwalt the most by far. Even got to weld Frame One...the bow section for a few months.

I typically use my Kubota for most firewood and pulpwood logging since it has a winch and can pull the trailer with ease. What I found works great is using the bulldozer to clear brush and make excellent roads for my tractor to twitch. On the shorter pulpwood and firewood you cannot beat the tractor...

Taking Pressure off the Final Drives

I think this will add a few years to the life of the ole John Deere 350D. I am not sure if the Wallenstein was really designed for 12 foot Spruce Logs but it handles them with ease. I like how all the weight is on the trailer and the bulldozer does not even know it has a load behind it. The next tes...

I have a JD 350D but did the same thing and devised a pin holder. It takes a lot of pounding, but they do come out (eventually).

Some say copious amounts of beer helps, but I do not drink, but I might have utter many a bad oathe.

I agree, as Americans our answer to just about everything is to spend more money on it. This is not the case; but that is a topic unto itself. The Moldovan Mission is to help them in agriculture which is about all they have. By ensuring that orphanages and senior homes thrive because they now have f...

Our Sheep Farm: Not to Be

What to do after retirement? It is the question everyone asks, and while my wife and I have decided to work within our church to help people recovering from divorce, and with a local Christian camp on several levels; those are local Christian Outreaches. The Pastor of our church wants his congregati...
