If you have enough room to work I would use a timesert, I've found them to be much stronger than a helicoil. Look at the link, Http://www.timesert.com/html/faq.html
Used those to repair my Cadillac Northstar when it pulled the head bolts.

Extremely Flexible—Low Pressure Suction-Coolant Hose
FYI. Just thought I would post this up for those of you who were thinking about replacing your steel main pump suction line, or coolant hoses. I was working on a project in Kentucky and saw this hose in there showroom. I bent a 1-1/4 hose in a number of different directions and bend radius and the s...

Thanks all. It wouldn't be a Deere heater, it would most likely be a Kats 1500 watt. Lavoy, the bypass is below the T-Stat CatD8RII, I will look for those plugs, that would make that portion of the install simple. Where to mount it will be the most fun. I will report back when I've got it done. Than...

Guys please don't compare different models of machines when giving someone advice on something so specific. There are enough differences within one model, let alone two. And to those of you telling someone to check a plug that you obviously don't have experience with, please stop! If you're not sur...

450C Coolant Heater, where to install
I'm thinking of installing a coolant heater on my loader. Those of you have one or have installed one, what line is removed to install it. I've looked at the parts breakdown and one of the places that looks feasible is the bypass line coming off the thermostat housing.

I looked up that very information on my 450C last night. The manual is somewhat miss leading. The final drives have fill and drain plugs, the next section (20) is about the Steering Clutch Housings, " NOTE: Change transmission oil (item/section 22) at this time. The transmission ans steering clutche...

Glad it worked out for you. You will need to adjust the shift linkage to be sure that the neutral safety switch makes in the neutral position. Mine did the same thing, if your linkage is sloppy, which mine was, you will need to adjust to a happy medium. I ended up pulling the linkage off and making ...
