Someone ages ago put in new o-rings in the cylinders on my old #76 blade. The blade would drop on it's own quickly. Turns out the o-rings were way to small and didn't actually stick out past the piston surface. Installed modern cylinder seals and it would keep the blade up indefinitely.

Hydraulic line routing on a 40C and #61 blade

I need to pick up another fitting, so can't test it yet, but can you guys tell me if I have the lines hooked up right?

That cylinder also has a depth stop setup on it. Is that technically correct for a #61 blade assembly?

Cool. Hopefully it'll fit the same for me. I'm waiting on a couple parts before bolting the blade frame to the crawler frame.

Do you have the long heavy metal bar/strap that runs back to the front cross-bar though?

I have the parts list already. It doesn't say anything about other parts on the crawler.

#61 blade questions on a 40C

Finally getting off my butt and putting the #61 blade on my 40C, replacing the #76 blade that was on it. I have the full belly pan setup and it would seem that the long bar that goes from the front frame cross bar up to the front tow/pull lug gets in the way of the crossbar lift arm for the blade. C...

I've had good luck with the straight-type EZ-out and don't pound it in hard. It just needs to be in enough to bite and turn the broken piece out. If you pound it in, it will swell the piece and make it grip the threads even worse.

Location information

Hello, In a number of posts on the board, it would be helpful to know where people are located. When you have a moment, edit your profile (click the Profile button at the top of the screen) and include which state/country you live in at a minimum. Including the city or town would be even better. Thi...

#61 blade question

What is the OEM hose routing for a #61 blade installed on a 40C? From what I gather, the hoses ran to the back of the crawler and hooked into the remote connections which were connected with hard lines to the control valve up next to the hydraulic tank.

Is this correct?

PC-862 is the parts catalog for the 40 series tractors, SM-2013 is the service manual.
