As to the alternator, I use this kit to rebuild my 10SI alternators.

It is not hard to do and it is cheaper then buying a new one.

I had to mill the block down to 3/4" X 3/4", I then drilled two holes to bolt it to the base. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff14/Lu47Dan/Clausing%206903%20Lathe/Shop%20Made%20Accesories/IMB016.jpg Test fitting the block. http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff14/Lu47Dan/Clausing%206903%20Lathe/Sh...

The next step was to cut the angles to match the way. This involved setting the block up in the mill at 35°, and then taking cuts off one of the corners. Since the two angles add up to 70°, you also have to trim the opposite corner of the groove to provide clearance to cut the groove to the proper d...

Willy, I have had some exposure to engineered lumber, but mostly just working around it. I have found that I can use them to replace the dimensional lumber (2 X 12's) I was planning on using for the roof rafters. If the prices are competitive with dimensional lumber, I will be using them for all my ...

Well I have spent the last two days doing some figuring on the floor plan for the work bay section of the shop. In the original plan of the shop I was just going to have two bays, one for projects and one for automotive repair. But that leaves me with a problem of where to park the lawn tractors, cr...

Gus, another thing to keep in mind is a vertical splitter is hard on the back. I feel that a horizontal splitter is much more comfortable to use. About 95% of the time with a vertical you are bent over using it, with a horizontal the figures reverse, you are bent over only about 5% of the time. When...

I have increased the capacity to over 5 gallons from the original 2.5. I'm not quite sure what it was but I think in that range. http://i222.photobuck...

Gus, I can not remember right now but do you have a loader or a dozer? A loaders hydraulics might be worth using to run a splitter but the output (GPM) of the hydraulics on a dozer is not high enough to give you efficient cycle times. Here is the thread on building my splitter. http://www.shopfloort...
