Hi, I have a Deere Quik-Tatch loader system on the 512 loader on my 5103 phase-II (now known as a 5045D). It has several bucket types, forks, bale spike and what I'd call a 'tin blade' for options. I have just one bucket and a set of forks, and the scheme is very handy. I can see where a heavier dut...

Hi, Well, yes the tracks do compress grass and weeds and such. My use for the DozerHog is to whack the heck out of fields that have sat too danged long and are full of small trees. I run with the blade a few inches off the ground and what folds under gets whacked. What does not gets uprooted and pus...

Hi, Not a 3-pt as we'd know it in the ag world, but some variant on a toolbar. Must have had a powered tool attached, given that odd looking PTO shaft it also sports. I've never seen a 450 with a 3-pt, and don't know if Deere ever offered one as an option like they did on the 350.... Still, one coul...

Hi, I must be blind or something. What is wrong with that, other than the decal? -Edit - I just spotted where Lavoy says the track pads and chains ought to be green. I can't say what color mine were as I have no paint at all on any of my track chains or pads! Might be some hanging on still on the un...

Hi, From the shortness of the circle you describe, it sounds like you might not have any drive to the right hand track. If the left is driving and the right is not, it will steer itself always. You might also want to check the front idler alignment. If those are not evenly adjusted they will pull th...

Hi, All I see wrong with the paint is that the cutting edge is painted yellow. The rest looks right enough to me. I won't say about the shade as most folks digital photo equipment is rarely color calibrated so one can never tell anyway. The decal is wrong and in the wrong place, of course. Yes, that...

Hi, Kewl! I want a set for the old Ford 4x4 I use as a water truck for hauling water up to the garden from the river. A crawler truck! :) Or just on the rear and call it a half-track! I expect that a set would be worth about 4x the value of the truck, though! I see where they even have kits for tand...

Hi, Back in the day, there were a couple outfits that made halftracks to fit just about any tractor, Deere's included. Just pop off the rear wheels and bolt on their units. I would not be surprised if Lindeman got into their business because they saw a need for a longer version. By the time you get ...

Hi, Aw, heck. The innards of that laser level probably runs on 5 volts, anyway. A little mod here and there, and we can make it work! :P So, we can laser up that puppy! :) Glad to hear that the unsticking was almost as easy as the sticking. :) I could use that thing around here right about now. The ...

Hi,

Looks like it works very well. Too well, judging by those 'other' photos! Much nicer than using a backhoe to dig a trench, which is my usual method. ;)

Hi,

The question now is: What size crawler do you need to pull that rig back out of the hole?

I also think we have a new rule around here: Don't try double-trenching!

:P

Hi, Deere has a re-life program on 350's and 450's (and probably the other models as well). What they do is ship old machines back to the 'other side' of the factory and completely tear them down to every individual part. Each part is then checked for being OK to re-use, or junked and replaced with ...

Hi,

Which dozer is mounted on the 2010? (outside mount, inside mount, manual angle, power angle, etc). That info might be important to someone. ;)

Hi, No, it's not supposed to turn all the time. The lever is supposed to pull the dog gears apart. Now, if it's turning only very slowly with the lever in the 'out' position, and a whole lot faster with it in the 'in' position, then there's some gear lube drag going on and that won't hurt anything. ...
