420c charging problem

I would say if it has an alternator that it wont run with a dead battery, but a good generator will keep it running with a low battery I think

49c track removal

I used 5/8" bolts and 1/2" steel and a large impact socket to let the pin move out and a 1/2" nut as a pusher Once the pin starts to move it comes out readily Hard to explain in print but I am sure you will figure it out

40c track pins

I have just removed and reinstalled both tracks on my 40c and I made up a jig with long large bolts and pressed the pins out rather than trying to beat them, once it was set up it worked well Just used scrap stuff I had laying around and imagination good luck

420c winch cable

As for parts I have no advice, but the cable I use on my crawler winch is 3/8" and it works fine, even made up some 3/8" chokers and they work fine also.

Probably a Lavoy question

I am about to find out why the steering clutches both slip when under heavy load, do you have a shop repair manual that will lead me through this job and at what cost, for a '53 40C? Thanks

440ic no spark

To the original question, did you ever come up with an answer to the no spark situation or did it lose its significance in the resistance theories Just wondering what the problem really was

40C sprocket wear

I would like some idea as to what the measurements should be on the drive sprockets so I will know if they still are good or should be looked at replacing, I have no idea what height or depth the teeth should be, Thanks
