40c pressure plates
There are adjustment bolts on the pressure plates, so is there a reason I cannot increase the tension to get more use out of slipping clutches?

40c and 420c hydraulic pump
Every thing works properly but with a pressure gauge the 40 has 800psi and the 420 shows 50 psi everything works; just thought with an overhaul could get things back to original, my info says these pumps should put out 1800psi when in top shape, thanks for all the help

40c and 420c hyd pump
I dont recall seeing any pressure relief in pump , I figured it was under the seat. As far as the gears and body go, it is them I wish I could replace, I refinished the endplates on a piece of glass with grinding compound and got the end clearance down to spec but the gears and centre body I dont kn...

40c and 420c hydraulic pumps
Well they both work, one better than the other, The one with the least output pressure is the one I have already put new bearings seals and "O" rings in, its on the 420, the 40 has more pressure but neither are up to specs; 40 has 800psi and 420 has about 50 psi, still work though. I will probably h...

40c and 420c hydraulic pump

mc no spark
this is what i would suggest. Disconnect coil wire that goes to ig sw. disconnect coil wire that goes to side of distributor, take a spark plug and lay it on the metal frame so the nut part touches the frame, run a wire from ig side of coil to neg of battery, take a wire from the distr side of coil ...

hydraulic pump 1953 40c
Thanks Lavoy, When weather turns warmer here will do more testing, might have a suction leak as well so when I really get to the roots of my problems I will keep your reference as I may need "O" rings and the back up you're speaking of.. Thanks loads Jim

hydraulic pump 1953 40c
Thanks Lavoy, now a question or 2 for you. Am I right saying the relief valve is not in the pump and also if seal is bad between pump and cam shaft when cold would the pump suck air and oil from engine? I believe I would like to have new seals and also new "O" rings can you supply them and what is c...
