Regenerative valving is used to make a cylinder work faster in one direction than another and isn't what you need for a loader.

Yep. A different cylinder works perfectly, so I'll pull the cylinder down and see what's up. Worst case, I'll pull the bypass valving out and plug the bypass hole with an allen set screw and put it back together. I assume (hopefully) that the piston will bottom out before bending the depth valve rod...

The messageboard doesn't have the ability to "fix" links when they change. If someone moves or deletes a picture that they have hosted somewhere, there's no way for the board to know that, so you get the broken link.

The previous #76 blade worked fine on the crawler, so I doubt the on-board valve stack is the problem. The cylinder is marked a4720r. I have a #76 John Deere blade assembly that came off my JD 40C but was designed for the JD 1010.

It was modified a bit to fit the 40C, but those modifications can be undone if you want to put it on a 1010, I believe.

I'm asking $500, firm.

What does it mean when the engine labors some when running the cylinder one direction but not the other?

The level in the hydraulic tank is at the full mark, so it's not running out of fluid.

Well...it got much better at cycling, but it's still being a real pain to bleed all the air out. Is there a trick to it? Should I hang the cylinder above the control valve, or below to help get the air out during bleeding?

Turns out I had to flop the lines. After bleeding the air out, the cylinder is VERY slow to retract but extends fine.
