It may be more economical to replace the Motorola alternator with a Delco 1 wire alternator with built in voltage regulator. You may have to machine out the bore of the drive pulley on from your Motorola alternator to fit the Delco but otherwise pretty much bolts on. Isn't it interesting how a serie...

Using the correct fluid in the reverser (303, JD Hygard or Valpar transmission /hydraulic oil) is pretty import an to proper function. I inadvertently used some of the wrong stuff a while back and it manifested itself in jerky clutch engagement that disappeared as soon as I changed to the proper flu...

Suspension seats for 350
What about some of the spring suspension after market seats for Ag tractors? I have one I am planning to install in my straight 350. The seat height will increase by a few inches. No heat or vibration but will soften the bumps and cost is less than $150.00

JD 450 heater
The engine heater on my 350 quit working this spring and the replacement I ended up with won't fit in the same place. I was thinking about plumbing it in with quick disconnect fittings. Plug it in when I need it and remove it when I am done.

350 won't move
You would do well to troubleshoot a little more before checking the coupling between the transmission and reverser as that will require removing the engine, loader, battery box, hydraulic tank fuel tank and reverser to check. I would get the appropriate manuals and go through the reverser function t...

Pressure tester for 450C
When I was having troubles with my 450 the former Coast tractor guy that troubleshot it used a hose from a grease gun with a 300 psi gauge on one end to do a fair bit of the testing.

350B won't move
I repaired a straight 350 dozer a number of years back that stripped the splined coupling between the reverser and transmission. Apparently it worked OK one evening and did not want to go the next morning. There was enough drag that it would spin the transmission shaft in neutral and grind a little ...

0-40 semi synthetic oil
You might want to confirm the oil manufacturers recommended temp range. Petro-Can 0-30 used to not recommend use above +20 degrees C. 5-40 full synthetic (Rotella T6) has worked well for my diesel engines in far NW BC

350 engine heater.
An oil pan heater is a good point. I run 5-40 synthetic oil in my engine which cranks well at pretty low temps but still like to use one or 2 200 watt magnetic heat pad on the engine oil pan and one or 2 on the reverser as well if the temp is down in the -20s.

350 engine heater install
On my 350 the lower fitting is the drain cock as shown in the previous photo but for the upper fitting the pipe plug that is partially obscured behind the throttle linkage is used. 850 watt heater generally makes the water gallery on the block feel nice and warm in around an hour down to 0 fahrenhei...

Make sure there is nothing floating around in your fuel tank that could block the supply line. I had a small bit of ice in my 350's tank a few years back that would periodically block the supply line and cause the machine to gradually die. When the engine quit the offending bit of ice would drop awa...
