I am kind of leaning towards bad injector/s.
Go to an auto parts store and get a cheap A/C thermometer and put it in the radiator neck to check temp. They are only a few bucks, but a great tool to have. If you want to spend some more money, you can get an infrared thermometer too.

Is your thermostat good so that it is warming up completely? Otherwise I might think about rebuilt injectors.

I would buy the AW64 I think it is called, it is the 30 WT straight hyd if you do not use the crawler in winter. HyGard works well too, but you will loose a little bit of pressure, and will have a little more howl to the system.

Charley,
1010 rails are 4 bolt, 440 rails are two bolt. It is also possible that it has been converted to 350 rail, I can not see for sure.

Pretty good looking crawler. The rails are 1010 rails, so it has had tracks on it at sometime, maybe had other UC work at same time. Can they give you a parts list as to what was done on the finals? I have had a few rebuilt finals with old bearings, and beer can shims.

With the trans in neutral, there is no link to the input shaft to the trans, so no power will be fed into the reverer. Plus, if the engine is off, there is no pressure to engage the clutch packs in the reverser, so no problem.

Yes it does look like your rails were cut. On the two cylinder crawlers with 4 rollers, the long track frame for sprocket shields was an option. I don't believe this is the case on the 1010. Cutting the rails is the lazy man's way of doing it, the final does not need to be rotated that much to get i...

If you have a chance, take a look. We put a winch on the back of my brothers 420, but without the fairlead, you have to be careful that the cable does not jump up over the side of the winch. When it does, it really chews up the winch body. I have two winches here that people have done that too, and ...

If you turn the sprockets around, and move the track frames in, then you have a 36" or 38" treadwidth. I have had 2-420's and a 430 like this in the past.

In terms of parts, the 2010 and 1010 are a little poorer on parts availability at least from Deere. The 440 is better, but as the years go on, that will decline as well. 440 uses a Detroit diesel, so parts can darn near be bought at Wal-mart, 1010/2010 are largely a Deere only deal especially the di...
