Re: 350 B winch on a 350

thanks for the info! this is about what i figured and was hoping for. i am a pretty good mechanic, but have never worked with the reverser or winch before and wanted to ask some "baby" questions to ensure i was on the track. i am thankful for folks like you and your dad for learning and sharing your...

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

I got the dozer today and unbolted the winch from it. Serial number 0164791... I think jim was asking. Also the filter is offset to the driver side and sets under the fuel tank nicely. Appears to align with mine perfectly. Spline shaft is a bit worn as well as the coupler. Stan, I need to clarify so...

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

oh...i see! alot of things make sense now! awesome...fun when one has that moment when the lights come on. i knew the winch was its own hydraulic system, but couldn't figure out how that worked with the dozer. winch drive shaft is the only real interaction. https://pin.it/blezz6ly44enkk https://pin....

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

yes the model number is there "3315", but i did not check the serial number. it is there i just didn't write it down. i will have the dozer in my possession this evening, so we will have all kinds of fun then. i could see the filter yesterday evening, but did not notice a valve, so it could have bee...

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

great info here guys. gregjo1948, the undercarriage is 90% shot. the shear coupler in this dozer was recently replaced and may have snapped again due to an underlying issue. the owner states that he has replaced some items in the transmission such as shafts and bearings. one thing to note is the tra...

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

That's what I was thinking...so what is the purpose for the hydraulic valve under the seat?

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

I went and looked over the winch this evening and thought about switching the shaft as stated...you guys are right it is a tight fit, I could barely see enough to make out the different shaft. Now my question is how will the winch be engaged when I get it onto my 350? Since I will not have the hydra...

Re: 350 B winch on a 350

thanks for the info. my 350 does have the pto shaft, however from what i have read this winch will simply be too tight against the rear plate to fit onto the pto shaft. the asking price is $4500 and has been setting outside for a few years. the crawler starts but does not move... i assume the drive ...

350 B winch on a 350

I've read thru the forums and found a lot of great info, but still have a question. I am getting ready to buy a 350 B with the 3315 winch. I am wanting to install the winch onto my 350 straight...will it work? I have no experience with a winch for this machine, but assume it connects to the PTO shaf...

Re: Engine help

Solved! Air intake full of water...filter rusted out. Apparently water does take the path of least resistance. This time it was 4 weeks of rain leaking perfectly onto the ROPS and then draining into the intake housing. The rusted out filter has no doubt been a work in progress over the years. This w...

Re: Engine help

Engine oil looks perfect...radiator is too low to see any coolant, I am unsure if it was like this when I parked it. It ran like a top a month ago before I parked it. My current guess is hydro lock with a bad head gasket allowing coolant to leak into one cylinder. Can I just remove an injector, chec...

Re: Jd 350 steering clutch

I had the same issue on mine and discovered what original possum said...I still don't know why, but one set goes before the snap ring. Everything should be nearly flush with the housing when the install is complete. Make sure your use the pressure plate guage to adjust the 3 fingers.

Good luck

Engine help

Went to start my 350 straight after a month of setting in the dry and she started right up at half throttle. After about 5 seconds of what sounded normal I heard a dull thud sound and she died...upon trying to restart, the motor is very hard to turn over via the key and I hear a liquid sound coming ...

I have to agree with the "too much power" statement. Saving money up front might be great, but in the long run the rest of the dozer may suffer the price.

Dozers and loaders are not in short supply, so as they say nothing ventured nothing gained.
