Re: Late Model vs Early Model

The Dodge would be a ClubCab as SuperCabs was a pherd thing. I gots a '96 Dodge ClubCab 2500 4x4 NV4500 8L V10. By the way all '94='02 2500s are two rear wheels and 3500s are dualleys.

Re: clutch plate thickness

When I saw this my first thought was engine clutch vs. steering clutches???? But I guess the steering clutches are a stack of disks and plates, is the engine clutch a single disk like a tractor or car?

Actually SALT Is an acronym. And I generally hate Acronyms when they are not explained once. BLM= Bureau of Land Management.

Re: 350B steering clutches

Just remember what you are trying to achieve is for the steering clutches to disconnect the drive to the final before the brake starts being applied. With the lever part way back you want the clutch to be off and then further back the brake start being applied.

Re: 450B problem

My personal opinion but I do not think a 1/8 inch hole would allow enough water flow to affect the temperature of an operating engine.

Having owned one in the past, I always liked the definition of a boat as a hole in the water into which you throw money.

Re: 440ic Frozen Engine

Just me, but to me this is a stuck engine, not frozen. A frozen engine usually includes a cracked block, pushed out "freeze" plugs etc.

Re: I bought a 1010C dozer

Actually a R would have been Deeres first diesel, followed by the 720, 730, 820 and 830. The 10 series would have been their first 4 cylinder diesels.

Re: how to chain up a dozer blade

I do not know what kind of blade you have on the 1010C but you might look at the cylinders that lift the blade, if they extend to lift it you might be able to clamp a piece of angle iron or U shaped metal to the rod of the cylinder to keep it from retracting and hold the blade up. That may be out of...

Re: 78 450c won’t turn over but one revolution?

The next thing I would check is to loosen the oil pan drain plug to see if there is any water in the pan. When you just loosen the plug and NOT remove it water (if there is any) will be the first thing to try to drain out. If it got any water in the stack some could have gotten around the rings and ...

Back in 2014 Lavoy said "Throw them in the garbage, then you have plenty of clearance." about the clips on the pressure plate.
