Re: Snowplowing
One concern maybe the type of pads you have. I have seen non-snow/ice pads pack enough snow/ice in the chain that it will bind the sprocket or cause the sprocket to skip. Without snow/ice pads or ice chalks, do not get sideways on a slope. The grousers act like ice skates, which is great fun until t...

I have what I believe is a original gauge. I have had it for ~10yrs. It is stamped “EXERCISE CLUTCH FINGERS “ and is stamped “JD227A” directly underneath the words. Best regards, Bruce

Re: straight 450 loader hose length
You may need to borrow Mom’s cloth measuring tape and make an approximate length measurement as Jim B has suggested. When you succeed, post the information back here for future reference, please. Best regards, Bruce

Re: straight 450 loader hose length
this is for a 75 loader on a 450c, not sure they are the same. You could compare some parts numbers at https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/ The Deere web site for parts often lists the length of the hoses in the description under the part number http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Hydraulic tank question 450c
There is a 1” hole in top of the right box lid. It is towards the rear of the arm rest lid. In that hole there is a vertical rod. It should have a roll pin or pin on the top. This rod is connected to the bypass valve and spring actuated. When the oil is at operating temperature, and you are raising/...

Re: Hydraulic tank question 450c
There is an often neglected filter in the right box/hydraulic box. It is either under the bolt on cast cap on top of the tank or in very late C series,?it is a spin on filter. You need to change this. Have you observed the pop-up head while raising and lowering the loader??

Re: Hydraulic tank question 450c
Does your tank have a spin-on filter or is yours old enough to have the filter in the tank? Has it been changed recently?

Re: 450c track loader fuel issue
Is the fuel tank sump and drain line working? Glad your rig is running again, but if the sump isn’t purged occasionally the screen may have problems again.

Re: JD450C third head gasket This is getting old
I can't imagine that the liner has that kind of flex in it. If there was something on the ledge then the whole liner would just stick out. Like Lavoy says the math to make that thing tilt is mind boggling. I would be very curious to see that liner out on a known flat surfaced and measured. I think ...

Re: JD450C third head gasket This is getting old
I’m thinking damage to the low side or debris under the high side. It is not uncommon for debris to be left on the liner landing or to fall in with the liner installation. Hopefully no a block problem. I agree with Lavoy, just push the one suspect liner out. Port-a-power from the bottom on the liner...
