If the guy is running a store then I can see selling the parts he has in stock to the first guy who actually comes for them. Now if a customer promised to buy a part he didn't have much of, and he promised to reserve them for the customer, then it should be a done deal. Didn't see that in this case ...

600 to have a pump AND injectors rebuilt sounds pretty good to me. People have no idea how crappy a diesel engine can run, and seem OK, until the tops of their pistons start disappearing and they're forking over thousands for a rebuild. Injector replacement at regular intervals (maybe 4,000 hours) i...

Brett, if you wanted to pay them for it, they do sometimes make patterns for outside jobs. A single pour would actually be preferable as we are not a high production foundry. There are almost certainly shops much closer to you though, the trick is finding them. If someone were local to me and had an...

Installing cylinder liners so they seal properly is a very picky job. The seal grooves in the block need to have all scale/debris removed with a wire wheel on a die grinder. Then a conical stone must be used with the die grinder to bevel the corners so the seals will not catch when you drop the line...

I could duplicate that cover in cast iron as I work in a grey iron foundry, but seeing as you are in Canada, the shipping would probably be too much trouble. Try to find an iron foundry around you that still hand molds parts, if you have the part that they can use as a loose pattern it is not much w...

Shifter knob
I had a round shift knob on my 420 serial number 109xxx and I thought it was the wrong one because it was 3/8" thread and the stick was 5/16" and it needed electrical tape wrapped around to keep it on. Bought one of the conical knobs with the shift pattern off eBay, apparently a copycat part, and it...

If you have one good steering clutch it can do most of the work with the other side just pushing enough to keep you straight. Of course two are much better, but with only one good clutch you still have a lot of balls. It's when you disengage that good clutch and the bad clutch is trying to push the ...

If it will turn left fine but stops when you try to turn right, that's probably a weak left side clutch. When both clutches are working together or the right is pushing to the left, it works, but when the load is on the left clutch it slips. That is the most likely thing. Do you have any slack in th...

Damn I have seen some of the stuff out there but that is just wild. You got a woodstove in that house? I worked on a real snow groomer once and that thing is cooler. So if you notice the clutch slip or it cant be set any tighter on a widetrack Deere . Do not go any further in than you can safely get...
