Re: Any early 1929-30 model a experts out there?
Thanks for the reply scampr. The seller tells me it’s a F-150. We’ll see, I may go take a look at it to see how thin the sheet metal is to determine if it’s a good project vehicle or not. It would be titled as a rat rod in PA anyways. It always amazes me that these old models a’s are still out there...

Any early 1929-30 model a experts out there?
I’ve been looking for a 1929-1931 ford model a tudor body to do a rat rod project. With that, I’m constantly looking at the for sale section on Facebook and I came across this post. It says 1929 Ford F-150 regular cab. Now I can’t seem to find any true information where they actually had F-150’s bac...

Re: Quick Couplings
Couplers are pretty common. Google “surplus center” and check their hydraulic fittings. You will have to get a similar gpm fitting to what you currently have. Their relatively cheap to buy a new male and female fitting

Re: 420C "Skidder"
Do you guys use logging chains or wire rope chokers? I started out with rope chokers and ditched them within a few weeks of using them and went to logging chains. The chains allow you to wrap the log and get the winch cable closer to the log itself, allowing the front of the log to lift up better wh...

Re: 420C "Skidder"
The winches are out there. It took me over a year to find two of them to make one good one. If your willing to travel and willing to total rebuild them you’ll find one!

Re: Pump 440
The 420’s hydraulic pump is rated for 900-950 psi and a max of 9gpm depending on your engine rpm. I would imagine the 440 is somewhere in that ballpark.

Re: 350 slope board
I had that happen to me yesterday, along with the o’shit feeling while picking up speed going sideways! Luckily I was stopped by the snow that was piled up on the side of the road before I went down a steep slope board!!

Yes I agree the u/c is 100% worn. It may be fine for light use around the house but always have the tools on hand to put the tracks back on!

Re: Wanted, Head light guards
I made 2 pairs for mine. Some 3/8”x3” for the bottom plate. 1/8”x3 bent to go around the light and some 3/8” solid round to protect the front of the light. Cheap bill of materials to fabricate if you have the tools to do so.
