His work.

Reminds me of the old saying, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach him how to fish, feed him for a lifetime." Jesus worked with the fishermen and made them fishers of men. I am glad you shared the ministry and I believe it is a great thing to do at the right time. May the Lord richly bless.

Carburetor

Also check the venturi in the carburetor for a good seal, it can suck air in, causing a lean condition. To test, try closing the choke when it backfires.

Carburetor

I had similar carburetor problem because I had not sealed around the venturi properly when I rebuilt the carburetor. It sucked air through the vent. Sealed the venturi with non hardening Permatex which solved the problem.

dowels vs bolts.

According to the 1010 parts manual, PC 727, crawlers before serial number 15258 had dowels, after used bolts on the flanged axle.

Sprockets

The picture on the right looks like my 440 crawlers, 3 big studs with nuts and 6 smaller bolts. No adapter, that was the way the sprocket was attached to the axle flange. Maybe the earlier 1010s were like this?

no power

I had a similar problem with no power and running with the choke halfway out. The venturi requires sealing to the housing to prevent sucking air from the vent opening to the bowl. Since the air bypasses the interior of the venturi, you won't pick up much fuel. I used aviation style permatex, which c...

450 Service Manual

I have an original 450 crawler service manual SM-2064, looks like its publishing date is around 1973, has over 500 pages, covers gas and diesel engines. Has a some grease smudges on the covers, skimming through the pages, it looks real good. Picture quality is very good, not the xerox copy quality l...

Spring

Nice pictures, I appreciate the work in tearing it down, then stopping to take the pictures. The spring fits between the two axle shafts in the differential spool. My guess is that this minimizes the axial motion of the axle shaft in the spool, since the movement of the clutches on the hub of the ot...
