You guys can laugh, I wish I had it for parts for my 420C, at that price. I'd pay that just for the tracks. I see someone jumped on it already. I know of a 420C for $4,000, a 440C gasser for $4300 on craigslist, in Sharon Springs, NY and a 350 in Middlefield, MA on craigslist for $2400. The 420C (I ...

re: RN Johnson
I've never been to RN Johnson's, though been by it years ago. My uncle ran several farms in Walpole for them, and I think my cousin may have worked for them. I can remember him, my uncle, telling stories about hunting with Tommy Johnson and the good ol' boys in Walpole, NH. Too bad I don't remember ...

How many Craigslist in Maine
Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire have only one Craigslist each, also, Western MA. They all have a good number of Crawlers from MC's on up, ie: 40's, 1010's, 350's and who knows.

420C and 350 Tracks
OK Guys, here's a good one. Maybe someone here will recognize this tractor. Anyway, my newly acquired 420C has a 420 track on one side and a 350 on the other. I forgot to count the links when I was in ME, but think there is 1 more on one side than the other. Won't be going back for another month to ...

440 Pins & Bushings
From what I've been reading lately, you should get a lot of response on this. I'll be checking, also, for my 420 I'll be getting this weekend. Hopefully Lavoy will explain the pitfalls of non-JD P&Bs.

Pins & Bushings
Hi Lavoy. Are these P&B's for MC's & 40C's, or for 420C-440C's? I THINK I recall 40C type were still available but not for the 420's. That may not still be the case. I'm hoping my "new" 420C won't need them for a while.

420C Rebuild
Those are some great pics, 57JD420. I should be swapping my 40C for a 420C next month. Hopefully I'll be able to get some work out of it before I have to do a lot of work on it. Those photos will be a grat inspiration, though, and will give me some insight as to what is involved!

40c tracks
Ok, guys, I have started dissecting the segment of track I received from Farmer Johns. The bushings have been "rebushed" by welding in pieces of tubing, as I had considered doing. As Lavoy pointed out, this doesn't solve the pitch problem, as the internal wear is still there, causing "track stretch"...
