420 tracks to 350 track links question
I am in the process of changing my very worn out 420, 5 roller tracks, pads and sprockets over to a 350. My question is the 420 parts book shows that there is 35 pads for my crawler, which is what I have on my crawler. The new chain that they want to sell me is a 36 pad track for a 5 roller 350. Am ...

They just returned my inquiry, and said they have no two bolt rails of any sort in stock for Deere, so who knows. Lavoy lavoy, I also called Industrial tractor parts and inquired about what they was going to sell me. It was a 350, 4 bolt upgrade. I did not know the pin spacing is the same as the 42...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your pressure plate is out of adjustment I will bet. Never install a pressure plate in one of these without adjusting the fingers. I know what your rebuilder says, but he is incorrect. His bench that he sets them on has no relationship to a 420 crawler in spe...

I kind of have to agree with you on that one, but the limb rakes gives any crawler a mean look to it! It would be nice to see one that has a more modern cab with the glass, radio, air conditioning!mapaduke@yahoo.com wrote:I half to say I'm not a big fan of the look of ROPS on this crawlers but yours looks good, nice job.

captainjoe, it sounds like you definitely on the write path for the design! X bracing from corner to corner is the strongest. I went with smaller gussits because of limited visibility on the front of my crawler. On the rear I used a sheet of 1/4" plate 8" wide to tie the upright supports, and the to...

captainjoe, here is a link to the Cage I made. page 2 http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=7522 if you would like any ideas or pictures I would be glad to help out. it sounds like you are building this on a 440, so it would be pretty identical to what I did. There is some things I ...

Now let's start back with the original post, the guy is asking advice on building ROPS. No matter what he builds(properly built using the correct material, proper welding techniques, and properly supporting the structure, anything will make an improvement vs having nothing, no matter what it is call...

Re: 420 blade
Your blade is a Greenville Rail Car Bull blade if you haven't found out yet.

I only had the crawler out so far when it was starting to get dark out, but it was fantastic to be able to see the outside edge of the blade, so you know what angle your at! We have been just getting rid of our snow so it's been pretty muddy! I put the flood lights on its own switch since they are 1...

Where Paul here you go. I started out with the uprights, using a bunch of 2" x 1/4"wall angle iron welded together to make a square tube. I had this laying around for a while so I figured that it would be a perfect fit, minus the extra welding of the 2 angle iron pieces together. That got old real f...
