Gary, I thought I had pulled those tas off, sorry. Grab them with a pliers, not even sure what they put them on there for, I assume it is just an assembly aid. Depends on which e-mail you mean, I have been gone since Wednesday. I have internet access, but no e-mail access. I will be home tomorrow an...

My bet would be oil on the clutches not rust. If it is oil, there is not fix other than replacing the clutches. Even if it is rust, I doubt that that would cause the clutch to slip unless there another problem along with it like a lot of wear, or weak pressure plate springs.

350 sprockets themselves will not bolt on. To look at them, they do not seem like they are the same diameter as a 350 sprocket, but they might be. If that is the case, they yes, you could sacrifice a set of 350 sprockets and cut the rim off of both and weld the 350 rim back on the 2010 centers. I am...

Not sure how your dealer was going to order sprockets, they have been obsolete for many years. I just did some checking early this week, and came up with nothing.
You might be able to source rollers locally cheaper than I can get them to you. Freight is a killer on stuff that heavy.

Dave,
I may not have a gear out, but should have one.
I don't keep very many trans bearings on hand, would have to order them.

It may or may not have the right finals on it, depends on whether it has had 420 finals installed on it at some time in it's life.
40 tracks are different.

They might be available from Deere yet. It will most likely look different, and will not be accurate for ground speed as it will likely be a wheel tractor tach. It would be okay for hours and RPM though. I did order a new Stewart Warner tach this week just to see what it looks like and to see if it ...

Correct, all you have to change is the sprockets.
To the best of my knowledge the sprockets are obsolete, and this is my last set. I checked a year ago, and was not able to find any, but you never know.

Did you get the crawler from Melvin? Yes, you have to still use 2010 sprockets, they are unigue to only the 2010. There are two different sprockets for the 2010. The sprockets for after 42,000 are for the larger bushing chain. To put 350 rails on an earlier machine, you just use the later sprockets ...

I believe the composition of the filter is irrelevant. Install whatever filter number is correct for the application you are putting it in, don't just interchange filters based on what they look like.

If that is the case, then I would just pick the most convenient track pin, and burn straight in the end of the pin with the torch. Cut until you have most of the pin burned out of the link, being careful not to cut the link itself if possible. Do this on both ends, then let it cool and you should be...
