YES you can use heat I would go to home depot ect. and get a MAPP torch NOT PROPANE.... Best to replace with cap tube (both trans and water temp) and copper line (OIL PRESSURE) IF not then replace with electric BOTH sender and gauge (SO THEY MATCH) AND GO with VOLT meter instead of AMP meter

YES When Hoe is off you need weights IF you want to lift much at all ,,, the weights should be about 12 x 18" X 2" thick about 200 LBS each they bolt to 2 brackets the hang on the HOE BRACKET when hoe is OFF SET of 5 or 6 ....can you get pics of what you have? I believe you need to connect the 2 ends/hoses together or you will screw the pump up if you try to start it

IF it is like a car or truck then with the numbers on the old pinion VS the numbers on the new one you can do the math and you will know how much shim to add or subtract behind the rear pinion bearing

The way I read what Lavoy said is that you have A 420 sprocket on the right side that fits the 1010 chain and a MC or 40 sprocket on the left that does NOT fit the 1010 chain so you need a 420 sprocket on the left side

Stan 1010 and 2010 it is almost impossible to get to the batt lead on the starter I would check voltage at the series parallel switch on the cable that goes to the starter and if you dont have 24 there you wont have it at the starter IF you have 24 then move to the starter IF you dont then move towa...
