carb surging

we had a 420 tractor doing something of the same,,, seams the linkage and spring was worn along with the worn hole,,, was all loose enough to allow carb to vary , it was a simple fix.

locations of 440ic serial numbers

is there any other place on this crawler that has the serial number?
the lower dash plate with model and serial number is not there,
the leftside flywheel casting flat spot, yes, but any other serial numbers or numbers that were "model specific"? that would be on the main body.
