I ran Dad's Buick diesel out of fuel one time. They were a pig to bleed, local fuel man sprayed WD40 in the intake, and it would start on that. Okay, never thought of it being a clutch type reverser. On that one, you will likely have to remove the clutch pedal for access. Yes, adjustment as outlined in the manual. Yeah, with a loader they are a real pain to do anything on. I really hate to have you pull the reverser out again, that is not fun either. Double check that you are adjusting the offending clutch pack as the book recommends, but barring that, looks like you...

If you have any air at all in the lines, you will not get the engine to run. The air acts as a cushion for the injector pulse, kind of like the expansion tank above your water heater.
