ya this is sorta like sittin around at the coffee shop.
you hear alot of things that a person can use or ask a question and get a dozen or more expert answers.
and i get to drink my own coffee!
not some crazy-priced bat-shit processed bean juice.

the model that incorporates trailing arms from the loader, not so rare in my opinion.
edited, i stand corrected.
the 3 point on an IC is rare, are the shanks and teeth readily available?

hearing stories of crops getting snowed over brings back memories.
once it snowed we hardly ever got back in the (corn)fields. the cattle would have to clean it up and also would make great cover and feed for the pheasants.

probably because the original short coupler was fubared and couldn't get a replacement. or having worked on it in such a tight spot, the guy opted to keep it out where it was easy to work on.

i think your right Wilbur(pipeline version hood). there was a 430 version of crawler that was propane powered, the tank was located between the dash and hood, hence a shorter hood. its different from 440's thou. this version also had a hardnose. maybe used in mining??? here is a pix on other website...

it is confusing , sorta why i threw it out there. i would have thought the same as Lavoy's post, another bit of info,,,that website also rates the 420c, 430c. but then ya have to consider the crawlers and pushing is supposedly more than pulling??? in the tests they only use drawbar pull to rate them...

the gal riding on/operating the sled was announcing the results over the PA system with tractor info and length of pull then the %. that was pretty neat. track was not hard so good rubber made the difference. bigger pullers were JD730, IH760. mostly 15 to 50 hp tractors, remember this was an antique...

pulling power of the crawler

i was at an antique tractor pull today and while watching they were announcing % of pulling power. for instance, an "A" with nice rubber had a 186% pull.
got to wondering what a 440 or 420 would do,,,
