Well 986 miles later it is home. It is the left steering clutch that is not working and left side is not pulling either. The clutch and brake pedals are siezed together, a clutch on both sides and no brakes. The reverser has been gutted and all operating linkage is AWOL. Nearly half the bolts have f...

440ICD/831 Bucket and poss. Reverser
I just won ePay auction 230175424803 for a "440 track loader" it is obviously a 440ICD with a 831 loader with forks. Think I would like to find a good used bucket (to match my other one). Also by the pictures it looks like there is no reverser lever visable. (Bummer) I am about 480 miles away from i...

Basically the complete circuit for the ignition is a wire from the negative treminal of the battery to the ignition switch, from the ignition switch to the negative terminal of the coil, from the positive terminal of the coil to the distributor and the points inside. The fixed terminal of the pointt...

All GM/Detroit two stroke diesels used a roots style blower to scavenge the cylinder and get all burnt gasses out before the compression stroke started. To the best of my knowledge only some marine diesels closed the exhaust valves before the piston covered up the intake ports and could actually be ...

If you have the John Deere part numbers for the filters you could go to www.wixfilters.com . On the main page they have a cross reference look-up. Just type in the numbers you have and see if there is a Wix equivalent. Usually the NAPA number is the same just drop the first number. HTH

The Craigslist 420C is sold.
The 420C Loader that someone provided a link to on craigslist is sold and picked up Saturday. If the buyer had backed out I was going to look at it as it was only 150 miles or so away. It went to someone in east Texas.

Well I am about 270 miles northwest of you. It has been above average wet around here, no flooding though. I think we are about one inch above our yearly average (28") and it is the first week of August. Our average temp. this time of year is 95 and we haven't hit that yet either. Usually several da...

John Deere Experts
I got to thinking and wondering, is there a place or person who is familiar with all the smallest Deere two cylinder tractors/crawlers? What is the difference between a 420C, 430C and a 440IC? I know that the 440ICs were built at the same time as both the 420Cs and 430Cs and most 440ICs are painted ...
