Interesting Crawler ???

Out of curiosity I posted a "want" on the local Craigslist for JD MC/40C 3 roller undercarrage parts. Received a reply with pictures of what the person said he belived was a 40C 3 roller he had. He stated someone had installed a Wisconson engine in it and added an "L" coweling. Rather interesting. :...

Could be a lot of things, one thing to check would be the switch. My MC was intermittant/hard starting, could never quite pinpoint the problem. Replaced the switch, no more problem, in fact starts better than anything I have! You should be able to "hot wire" to rule it out.

Mine leaked on my MC. Installed new one and sealed around edge
with JB weld for a little insurance. Don't know if it helped but it
hasn't leaked anymore. I'd pulled the engine 3 times before
I found the leak and didn't want to have to pull it again.

In the past, I've used WD-40 on gas engines as in lawn mower types. Worked fine, I usually use carburator cleaner lately.

Don't know what it is about the John Deere paint in the rattle cans but it seems to go farther and definatly sprays better than any other paint I've ever used. I know it's a little pricy though......just my $.02..

Sears, and I'm sure others sells a set of "easy offs" ? that fit over rounded nut and bolt heads that grip like easy outs. My experance has been good with them. Not sure if they go up big enough for you. They also have a wrench that just grips the flats....looks weird, I was given a set as a gift, I...

40 crawler with trencher

Noticed in the little pictures that pop up what looks like a 40 with a trencher mounted on the back. Has anyone ever seen one of these ? Was just wondering how they slowed the crawler down when trenching. I have a Cub Lowboy with similiar setup, (Auburn trencher). It has a reduction unit added befor...
