Re: 450C S#316652

I don't have a common sump machine (yet) but that being said the instructions on the conversion say to lock tite the plugs in there is no practical way at this point to add fluid but thru the transmission. The section of the book that refers to "add 3 gallon to each side" is during the conversion pr...

Re: FINALLY - PAINT-

Maybe mother Deere is an option, they show available and seem reasonably priced to me for OEM labels.

Re: 350B Track Tensioner

As far as your not being able to find the master pin, if you have SALT tracks like I do ever pin has a dimple. You have to pressure wash and inspect ever pin very closely and you'll probably find one that is a little smashed up where it was drove in. That's the pin you have to try and remove to spli...

Re: 350B Track Tensioner

Yes, as you compress the piston grease will ooze out and it will stay in that position. If you can turn the piston by hand I'm not sure why it will not compress.

Re: 450C S#316652

I found one original oil pressure gauge on ebay for 30 dollars a few years back. The rest of my gauges are just Stewart Warner gauges I bought at the local auto parts store. Of course, one of which I just realized is reading poorly.....other than the tach I would just get good after market mechanica...

Re: 350B Track Tensioner

I was able to remove the tensioner and springs on my 450c without splitting the track but you have to get that cylinder collapsed all the way to stand a chance. If you cannot compress it with the blade it may be seized to the point of no repair. I've read threads where people had to cut them out. Yo...

Re: Running hot?

I ran the machine last night and it was in the shade and a bit cooler. The machine never registered above 220 on the gauge and my non contact sensor said 200. So when I saw it at 230 maybe a touch above it's 210, I would assume that's ok for a hot summer day? I don't even recall what temp the thermo...

Re: Running hot?

I suppose it's possible, it's a mechanical gauge I put in maybe 8 years ago. I think I have a non contact gun, I could shoot the top of the radiator cap fairly easy when she's good and hot.

Running hot?

I've had an issue for quite awhile, my little 450c seems to run hotter than I think it should when it's hot outside. Normally in the spring/winter it runs around 190 degrees. It's fairly warm right now (read 87-90) right now and after working her hard she get's up to around 220 degrees. After 3 hour...

You've really posted this in the wrong section, I don't know if someone will see it to move it but you should post it in the early model section it has much more traffic.

Re: Case 580c

I found 8 or 9 little specs and a flake of something out of the inspection port. I pulled it tonight and gonna send it off for repair tomorrow.....I can't win for losing. My little new holland skid steer blew a drive pump too, I need to hire a full time mechanic.

Re: Case 580c

It's the little 90 elbow check valve that is in the top of the pump. It's part of the return circuit. When the check valve gets plugged up it builds pressure in the pump until it will not run anymore.

Case 580c

I've got a case 580c and I've cleaned the little check valve in the top of the Standyne fuel pump about 4 times in the last few weeks. It all started when we had that massive cold freeze, it stopped running right and I just assumed it was gell'ed fuel broke something loose inside it. The problem sti...
