Re: 1980 JD 350C wont move

I have a 440ICD, never around a 350. Is there any sort of a top cover or other plate you can remove to see in the transmission before taking the crawler all apart?

Re: JD 450C radiator issues

I would think that line was to allow the water pump to circulate water in the block before the water was hot enough to open the thermostat. With no thermostat it would not make much difference. If you install a thermostat you will need that circulation to prevent hot spots in the block.

You could check with Lavoy on the kit price before you pull the trigger. That is part of what keeps the lights on around here.

Re: 450 diesel engine no serial #

That serial number shows to be a 1968 model 450 straight. The serial number info is in the FAQ section on this site.

I have a '67 580CK and the only thing I know of is Yesterdays Tractor, either the Case or TLB forums. If you find anything better I would look at it.

Re: 440 "power plant"

I believe you are going to have to find a source of full pressure oil for your cooler. The oil filter on these engines in Deere crawlers is bypass only. I have not studied them enough to know if you can get enough oil out to a cooler for it to work and back in the engine.

Re: JD 440 ICD oil filter

My oil filter is mounted just inside that plate, horizontally. It is a bypass style filter and the lines run down in front of and below the governor. https://ww...
