The John Deere parts site http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com. ... ervlet_Alt
lists 2 different engine clutches. One doesn’t specify the size. The other is 279MM (11in).
If you need parts Lavoy, the owner of this site, can help.

WOW over 200 views since I last posted and no suggestions. I decided to pull the top cover off of the transmission last night. On initial inspection everything looked fine. I thought that maybe the oil supply line might be partially plugged so I removed the lines to blow them out. I removed the shor...

Here is an update. I pulled the engine, clutch housing and front cover yesterday. Everything seemed to be OK. The spring for the oil cooler bypass valve was in the right hole and the valve was not binding. That is where I thought the problem was going to be. I’m not sure where to look from here. Doe...

Everything didn’t go as I had hoped. When I got the loader back together the left steering clutch and brake was frozen. I put the loader in gear and let the clutch out and the brake came free. Great. :) That’s when I found the steering clutch was frozen also. I was able to move it to an area where I...

update oil in clutch housing
Here is an update on the transmission leak. I finally pulled the engine and checked the input shaft, seal and bearing. Everything was good. No slop in the bearings. I decided that I needed to spin the input shaft to build pressure in the pump because the leak would only show up when the engine was r...

There should be two ½ inch bolt holes in the head to attach lifting eyes. The one on the rear of the engine is on the side and the one on the front is on top. I made some lifting plates from ¼ inch plate and cut slots in them to pass a chain through. I drilled a ½ inch hole in the other end to bolt ...

You should adjust both sides at the same time. As far as the braking, the harder you pull the more pressure you put on the drum. Just like brakes on a car or truck. If you pull the lever back hard and quick that track should stop and the dozer should turn. If you pull back with a little less pressur...

If the hoses or fittings are not leaking the oil could be coming from the front seal on the transmission. I have this problem on a straight 450. It will go through about a gallon an hour. The oil was draining out of a weep hole in the bottom of the clutch housing. I pulled the engine and replaced th...

I have been into several of those pumps but only one that was on a John Deere. Ford used the same pump design on the early model diesel pickup engines. The flex ring that Leonard is talking about is a flexible plastic looking ring that attaches to rivets on the pump and governor. The ring will deter...
