Re: lower carriage roller removal on a JD 450
So if I unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the roller onto the rail, it should drop out? I've attached a couple of screen shots f the carriage assembly and roller break down. If they do does attach to the post, the roller would have 2 bolts mounting the ends to the lower rail, pictured as #7 in the assemb...

lower carriage roller removal on a JD 450
Can any of you give me some advice on the removal of the lower rollers on my 450? Does the entire carriage have to be disassembled, or can the roller(s) be removed without taking the outer or inner side plates off? Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Straight 450 blade conversion
Anyone know if a 6 way blade off of a 350 would fit my 450? Are they completely different?

Looking for a 6 way blade for a JD 450
I own a John Deere 450 crawler, and I am looking for a 6 way blade for the machine. Presently, it has a heavy push blade which I am going to remove and sell or trade?. I live in NYS. Thanks.

Re: JD 450 crawler won't stay running
What I noticed was a fragment of paint, or a chip of paint in the check valve. I wonder if it wouldn't let the membrane from operating properly. Must be from past owners try to replace or perhaps get the machine running, since I purchased it with its inherent running problem, knowing that I would ha...

Re: JD 450 crawler won't stay running
I think I have the issue licked!!! After looking at Jim B's diagram, I went to my local JD dealer and purchased the said check valve (now $30) and installed the rather non-impressive part onto my injection pump. I had to make a new fuel line, because the old one did not release the cap, and twisted ...

Re: JD 450 crawler won't stay running
I ran a supply of fuel to the main line today, hooked up by an outside source other than the machine's fuel tank; same result  I will check on the check valve tomorrow morning. Hopefully, that will be the problem. Thanks a lot guys. You are all a great help to my plight!!! I will keep you post...

Re: JD 450 crawler won't stay running
I did indeed run the machine with the fill cap loosened, and eventually, without it completely. No luck. Thanks for the link Jim B, but no luck going to the JD site. The site won't let you look at parts and diagrams, temporarily I suppose. No screens on the fuel supply end, of the tank either. just ...

Re: JD 450 crawler on't stay running
Didn't find anything interesting in the tank. Drained over 20 gallons, unscrewed the return line and outlet, blew air into both. Nothing. Bottom of tank clean. Both lines are installed to the outside wall of the tank, not the bottom, as you would expect. I did find a 4" length of rubber fuel line jo...

Re: JD 450 crawler on't stay running
My machine is a straight 450, no letters. I'm going to try loosening the fill cap as to let air into the tank, se if that helps. I took it for granted that it did not need any venting. being a diesel!!

JD 450 crawler won't stay running
I have an interesting problem on my recently purchased JD450 dozer: The machine starts right up, doesn't skip a beat for about 5-10 minutes. Then for no reason at all, it just stops running. Although I have it now that it will re-start after several cranks, but after a while, I quits. I replaced the...
