Definitely agfee that I should get the tach working. .. how much for the cable and how much for the tach? I have to check it out first anyway. Doing this depends what I find to work with shafts wise. Lavoy.. got any used shafts? (540 or 1000) 4 ft ish strong enough for the 4020 and or with clutch

4020 540/1000 brushhog question

And at 45 horse, I definately have more than enough power (tach doesn"t work, so i"m guessing at what speed I"m atually a...

later model 4020 diesel

Every once in a while, (maybe 20% of the time) I have a heck of a time restarting my 4020 when it's hot. Doesn't give much if any smoke. (also have trouble when it's really cold, but I understand that's not abnormal for the old girl even when it was new) My question is... I tried bypassing the elect...

Especially if you have a strong friend.. or even better.. 2!

(you can also put a piece of 2x6 along all of the rollers to give yourself a place to put a rolling floor jack.. or slide it off wood on wood being you are working on dirt)

(I do way too much heavy work by myself... lol)

My 2 cents is take it off (going rate is about $0.017 lately) ... the better access you can get to any of those bolts the better, especially if they havent been off in a long time. Then you might find a few more broken bolts to take care of too... (make sure you check the crossbar to frame bolts esp...

40 clamps

I believe I have at least 2 of the clamps that you need. Havent seen a post since the 5th there, and if Lavoy hasn't got it for you, contact me and I can get you one. I'll let Lavoy set the price if he's comfortable and you agree. (i'll post a pic first)

well.. got the new harness piece from deere. exactly the same as what I just tried from napa. I must have some sort of replacement switch? there is a plastic ridge between the two "buttons" that wont allow the connector to slide on. Any ideas?

I've caused myself a lot of headaches with inline filters that were too restrictive... found some that seem to do ok in the marine area of Walmart... its more of a screen than it is a filter. The one i'm thinking of is clear with a white plastic screen inside..
