Re: Timing the oil pump
Put the distributor in and got the front piston top dead center on the compression stroke, the DC stamp on the flywheel is in line with the line on the engine block, the rotor is pointing towards the front spark plug hole, will that be ok?

Timing the oil pump
Just read the old post from 2008 concerning timing the oil pump along with the distributor with a special gauge, the post : (Help Timing without the timing tool AM-450-T). My question is does the oil pump have to be timed or it won’t function properly? Or is it really just the distributor being time...

I looked for the dimension but couldn’t find it, just want to...

Re: Guide on the track frame
Yes sir, I purchased the SM 2023 immediately after I got humiliated by ya all for buying the Knock off el cheapo toilet paper,, Lol! Anyways the SM 2023 doesn’t go to great detail concerning the tolerance for the bracket guide, it pretty much says “if clearance appears excessive remove shims, after ...

Re: Size 12 volt battery
Sounds like I might have to make a rubber padding for the bottom to absorb heavy vibration. What do you think?

Re: Guide on the track frame
How thick are the shims? I noticed it says .010 and my service book says 12 shims are needed, where do they go? Are they stacked up between the two idler brackets? Also how much play should they have?

Size 12 volt battery
I’m going 12 volt on my 440ic, changed the starter to 12 volt already, I’m needing to know what size 12 volt battery do I need to use, the battery base size on the dozer is 9” by 8” I know it was built for a 6 volt battery so hopefully I can get a battery to fit the base. Any ideas?!
Thanks Don

Drain flush refill
Been reading in the manual about “drain, flush, and refill” on the direction Reverser, hydraulic systems, transmission, final drives. Flushing is all new to me. Here are some questions:
1. How do you flush?
2. What are used?
