There is more than likely a vent pipe that goes thru the tank and drops out the bottom. Mine was plugged and caused the same problem. I had to put a coat hanger on a cordless drill to get thru the crud and open it up. From the top it just looks like a hole that comes in right at the top of the fille...

I think you will have to pull the nose and probably the radiator to get in there. There are threads on here about how to pull your nose with the correct cylinder locks and a come-a-long it's not hard at all. I can do it in 20 minutes. When I had my machine tore down to service the radiator, water pu...

If you are not getting fuel to the injectors it could be the solenoid shut off valve, sitting 10 years it could be stuck.

The pump in front of the engine is for hydraulic controls for either the loader or blade. You might try running the brake/clutch adjustments for each track per the manual (if you don't have one download it!). It's a long shot but worth the effort before you pull the engine and/or transmission. You c...

Look down by your feet for a little handle that pulls up and down for the PTO, sometimes they are there. I'm not sure which ones are there and other places. My 450c has the slot in the floor boards but not the control as it did not come with a PTO.

Yes, the tach drives are mechanical.

I don't know how much use you'll get out of that under carriage. It's beyond me that the tracks still stay on. The chains are work down where the bottom rollers are riding on the pin bosses.

I'd make sure you have enough in your budget for a rebuild on that pretty soon.

I'd give my brother right arm to be able to dig holes like that. It's so rocky around here it's all you can do to get 24" deep with my 450c loader.

It's miserable to dig. I push and pile =)

My guess is the pop you heard was the tracks , they are very loose. I see a fair amount of room left in the adjusters. For home personnel use I don't see anything that scares me too much, I for one would want a factory cage though. From the position of the shifter it certainly looks like a straight ...

You should post up pictures so we can see what kind of shape the rest of the machine is in. Then people would be in a better position to help you determine if you should scrap it or sell it for parts.

Don't forget to get a couple close up pictures of the under carriage.

I had a stuck adjuster and used a tractor to get it broke free. I just popped it a few times with the loader bucket of the tractor.

That is a decent price for a loader with those options in my opinion. However because of the dry clutches and the fact it needs a total undercarriage it would be a tough purchase for me.

Can you do the undercarriage or will you have to pay someone to do it? Its a huge cost to consider.

I don't know much about 450 machines (mines a 450c) but I hate to see a post go without a reply. That price sure does not sound right, what part are they quoting you ? Looking on the JD parts website what I would consider the coupling is T21132 and is $416 which is still high dollar. If it's a diffe...
