Re: Winch identifications jd 350

That is where those number show up. Go to JDparts: Homepage and you can research further. Enter your model number; I picked a 350 crawler tractor based on your post title and looked at the winches; they show two the 3310 and the 3315. I did a search for T19800 for the 3310 and it didn't come up, tri...

Re: jd440ic hyrdraulic pump rebuild kit

To test the pressure (strength), I don't know if there is a test port on your machine or not but you can always get a Tee and a few fittings and add a test port into the pressure line coming from the pump to the valve (or into a hose going to a cylinder port) to check pressure. Get hydraulic fitting...

Re: Winch identifications jd 350

Drop the T suffix off the number and those are numbers for components of a 3315 winch, in looking at JDparts, for winches used on 350's. Is that what you were looking for?

Re: jd440ic hyrdraulic pump rebuild kit

If you lift your blade up, let the valve go to center (hold position) and shut the engine off. If the blade drops; it is most likely the problem is in the cylinders, as Lavoy said. A badly scored, or out of center, valve might do it but not as likely, from your description of the problem. I had a 43...

Re: Backhoe weight

From info I found I would plan for the heavier weight Bruce posted. Some extend-a-hoes had to have front weights, bucket options change the weight, extra plumbing for other attachments, many things come into play on these. Looking at models each side of the 580K; a 580L series shows 13,200 to 15,750...

Re: 350 transmission fluid check

The PTO lever would be the little short lever just off the deck plates, left side just ahead of the seat base. Do you have a winch? That would be driven by the PTO. If you don't have a winch and you see just a cover plate at the rear, you don't have a PTO. I believe on some tractors, some of the int...

Re: 350 transmission fluid check

Actually the transmission dipstick may be right near the left front of the seat beside the PTO lever, not under the seat.

Re: 350 transmission fluid check

Under the seat I think your transmission should have a dipstick at the front left side. Not sure its been a while since i have been around a 350, but I looked at the parts manual and I think that is where you find it. You can get the manuals (printed or electronic) for your machine quick and easy fr...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

There should be a number along with the TM on your manual. The 450B manual I found on line is TM1033; 332 pages. I found the idler wear spec under Miscellaneous Components, Tracks, Specifications. Page 38 of the Dresser undercarriage document a drawing of measuring an idler, same method shown in a p...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

There was an inspection tool (JD268A) years ago that allowed for a quick check of track components. As far as I can find out those are no longer made. I believe John Deere may now have a full track inspection kit that covers all their machines now instead the old gauges (JD266, JD267, JD268A) for di...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

Hi Will, My personal thought on the wear I see on the housing in your photo is that is the result of material passing between the housing and the sprocket over the years. It appears to be on the sprocket side of the housing, in line about center of the bottom roller, which is in line with where the ...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

Yes this will screw into the end cap under the spring so you won't need a nut(s). My comment on the nuts was meant to cover the times where one needs nuts with the all thread; the grade of the nuts is important as well. You're headed in the right direction from what I see. It will be a big help to h...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

Hi dtoots1, I would agree with you about a possible issue with all thread, but it looks like he got an Allen bolt (socket head bolt). If that is correct those are normally better than grade 5, the fastener shop should have been able to tell him that and it should work if it has the length of threads...

Re: 450b Undercarriage rebuild and steer clutches

Good morning, Sounds like you will be busy for a while. You can find details of the T16678 bolt at JohnDeereParts Homepage if you search that part number. It is basically a 1" coarse thread bolt about 15-1/2" long. It is available for about $250.00, from what I saw when I looked. They show a materia...

Re: 350B steering clutch housing drain location

Parts manual shows a 1/4" pipe plug. A quick search on the web for 350B steering clutch housings and look at images, turns up photos of each a left and right housing at Wenger's. One has the plug visible and the other doesn't. The view isn't the best, but one without a plug doesn't appear to have th...
