Re: Brake drum wobble
You're gonna like this. I just realized I had taken the quill off to inspect the gear...I was looking at the drum today and just happened to turn the final drive around to reposition it and seen my forgetfulness. It was late the other night when I took the final drive off the dozer and had totally f...

Brake drum wobble
I've seen this to varying degrees on a few drums. This particular drum wobbles nearly bad enough for the drum to touch the final drive case. Here's my question, what specific part creates the wobble? It seems to me the cir clip on the pinion shaft would be the obvious pivot point, but how does one r...

Re: Power assist cylinder rebuild
Thanks...I gotta pile of parts that resemble a dozer. Figured I would do some detail work while it's apart.

Man, I hate to hear this. It is life changing, but you can certainly make the best out of every day. We all have different challenges we face each day. I recently had a battery blow up in my face and it was over a silly mistake.

Re: 350 reverser
Gonna start answering my own questions...lol The orifice is two parts and both can be removed with a short flathead screwdriver. The needle valve comes out first and then the orifice. Pretty easy job to remove and clean. Also I was able to get my pressure up to 90 psi and the reverser worked great. ...

Re: 350 reverser
I was able to raise the clutch pressure by adjusting the orifice out...took 4 complete turns but I got my pressure up to 75 psi. They're may be a clogg in the orifice. Anybody ever clean one? I saw where gregjo asked the same question. The service manual says to tighten the orifice "in slightly". I ...

Re: Jd350 track tensioners
Yeah that's a relief hole. You need to loosen the lock nut and tighten the set screw(bolt) down until its snug. Then tighten the lock nut. The lock nut is preventing it from closing the gap. While you're at it make sure you have the steel ball under the set screw. Probably have to take the screw out...

Re: shims for reverser
Thanks for the info Jim!
I wonder how much an .024 shim will help the pressure. I'm currently getting 45 psi for the clutch oil regulator valve.

Re: shims for reverser
Forgot I had a parts book...
T15858t .060 thickness
T14587t .024 thickness
I done a pressure test on the clutch oil regulator valve....it was only 45 psi.

Re: 350 B steering clutch
The left side clutch doesn't seem to disengage...can't coast backwards. Previous owner had a make shift tool to measure the pressure plate fingers. Tool looked good, but I'm unsure how close he got them adjusted. Definitely explains how it could slip, but I think both sides would be adjusted the same.

Re: 350 B steering clutch
That's makes sense, but what about disengageing the clutches on a hill and letting it roll backwards?

350 B steering clutch
I know they're a bunch of steering clutch post and I've rebuilt several myself, but wanted to get some input. 1974 350 BE SN 196047T The right side steers perfect. Clutch disengages and brake locks seamlessly. The left side had to be adjusted because it was absolutely non responsive when the stick w...
