Re: 350 transmission issues

If I understand things correctly and it were my 350 I would remove the transmission cover plate and take a look. You should be able to remove the input shaft from above and inspect the output shaft from there. To do the repair you will most likely need to split the crawler at the point where the tra...

Re: to 350B or not to 350B?

Could have alot of issues with it. Undercarriage and finals are the biggest concern, but if the price is right get it.

What state is it in? If you decide against it somebody here may need it.

Re: 350C steering clutch repair

3,000 hours would be awesome, but I learned along time ago not to trust the guage...5 hours with the wrong operator can be the same wear as 5000 for another operator. Run that seriel number to confirm the dozer or pop the seat out and look for two square covers or square openings where the covers sh...

Re: 450 STAIGHT oil pressure issue

Lots of good info here....no oil pressure is scary. To think some equipment doesn't even have an oil pressure guage.

Re: 450c track master pin

Pretty common not to have a retainer...most folks tack weld the pin in place to ensure it stays put.

Yup...selonoid. Opens and closes with the key switch. If ever in doubt just run a wire from the positive battery post to check its function.

Compression, air, and fuel and she'll fire...check these three and you find the issue.

I had an ip do this once...snap of death is what I call it.

Re: 3325 winch issue

Could be the pump or the pick up ( suction) screen clogged on the pump. It should be gear driven and should pump fluid when turned by hand, so the dozer should produce enough flow to see the lines pressurize. The fact that you can free spool tells me the pump is working enough to release the brake. ...

Re: John Deere 350b reverse problems

I had to scotch the front of the engine when I pulled mine. The motor out weighted the rear of the dozer and would have tipped otherwise. I also jacked and scotched under each side of the crossbar between the dozer and the tracks to help. This is what caused the dozer to tip. I feel like the higher ...

Re: John Deere 350b reverse problems

Amazing how similar your problem was to mine...I got lucky and only had to replace the input shaft bearings....

I don't know where you live but I have two spare 350's that might work for you if Lavoy can't get you going.

Re: 350 Steering clutch driveshaft

Where they in the clutch housing? One cannot see anything from the other side of the dozer from this area.

If the washers were in the clutch housing then they could have easily have fell thru the top cover. The hub that holds the clutch disks doesn't have room for anything to happen like this.

Re: 350 Steering clutch driveshaft

I had a similar situation and thought adding some spacers might help, but I decided against it. That being said I'm interested to know how big the washers are? I.d. specifically. This might tell us where they may have been used. I'd say there was some excess play and they seemed like a good idea at ...
