Re: Track Adjuster Seals

your taking that cuttingedge to extreme with surgery,, hope all went well Travis,, I too usually hone the cylinder,, no special tools needed...you should have the heavy plastic type seal on your 350D..clean everything well.. rugged plastic but it slides on the rod pretty easy if you put it in hot wa...

Re: Reverser Pump and Steering?

So Travis is the dozer figured out.. sorry to hear that health issue I hope it turns out not so bad..It took me awhile to find your other post to see what you were talking about... But I did notice a pretty new Husqvarna that your wife was posing with.. have you had goodluck with that saw?? in your ...

Re: 400G winch?

sounds like you have a good set-up and just need the brackets,, I prefer the spool valve controller to the rotary,, very simple and about fool proof.. I have been studying this set-up .. I thought if I made the brackets it would give me a market to sell more winches,, I gave up because there are not...

Re: Reverser Pump and Steering?

Glad you found the problem,, I actually didn't think it mattered which way the oil went throught the cooler as long as it went thru.. good to know.. sometimes the simplest things mess you up... Mark..

Re: 400G winch?

Hi, only the 3325 winch will work on a 400G.... when they went to the 400, jd put the newer tranny so it is center mounted pto-winch drive just like a 450,, all 350models have a off-set pto same as the 3315 winch. I have a rebuilt 3325 winch for sale if Lavoy doesn't have one.. best to please contac...

Re: Reverser Pump and Steering?

Normally heat is caused by the clutches slipping and generating a lot of heat to the oil in the reverser,, but just so I am clear,, was the motor temp getting hot because of a leaky radiator?? If motor gets hot so will tranny oil,, they are both cooled thru the radiator.. if you lose fluid they both...

Re: track pads JD straight 350

Gregjo, count the number of links in your track chain,, I believe it should be 36,,, guys cut out 1 link when the track chain has stretched to far for the track adjuster to keep it tight,, out of limit... and they don't have the money to buy new,, it is a reasonable idea to buy some time to save up ...

Reg,, I am not really into the restoration of old dozers as a hobby, I restore the newer but still old dozers to do work,, I never thought to restore one like I would a 1969 chevelle or mustang... that being said with no disrespect... your dozer is staggeringly beautiful,, absolutely awesome.. I don...

Re: 350 B steering

I would pull top cover and look in there,, another common ailment is the connecting joint with two spring loaded heim joints breaks ,, or one one of the balls wears and slips out of the joint.. I believe Lavoy was making a run of these to factory specs awhile ago,, not sure how that project ended up...

Re: Reverser Pump and Steering?

Hey, buddy I haven't heard from you in a while did you get that other problem fixed? on your 350D... this could be a long shot but I have seen it before.. sometimes on a complete oil drain and change,, air gets trapped and cycled through the system and acts funny for alittle while,,, on a 450C same ...

winch brake

Idaho,, you will have to pull the arch to do any work on clutch side and it will be so much easier when off... there are only two big bolts on each side of the bottom of the arch that hold it on and 4 smaller bolts up by the top roll of arch on the inside that bolt to the winch... there should be no...

camshaft gear

Ted, I recently rebuilt my 450c motor but the kit did not include the tach gear.. the gear is press fit onto the camshaft but is also splined... I tried everything,,, I have good OTC bearing pullers.. we put one on and put it in a press and could not get out the gear.. I then heated camshaft end red...

450 won't start..

As Amos said the pump could be out 180,,, it is just a simple screw driver type of slot... but instead of just pulling it and guessing it's out 180.... when you pull the pump don't move anything without looking inside first... there is a little circle like a period on one side of the pump shaft stic...
