Jimmy,
I do have the updated 6 blade fans on hand if you don't think you can straighten this one. Also look for cracks anywhere, I have one of these shed a blade, and it cost me a radiator.

Yes, loosen the set screw, and the outer shaeve will thread off. If you want to know the truth, I take them off with a knife if I know I will be replacing it. Then it is easier to get the sheave off and clean everyting up.

Pull the engine by itself, pulling it with the bellhousing can't be done unless it is a very high serial number 430.

Not rare, just not a whole lot built, about on the same level as a 3 roller 40. I have had several, had numerous customers with them as well. I would say on a percentage basis, there are less of them parted out then the other models.

All you have to do is start it, put it in gear, and hold both steering levers back. Apply the foot brake, and let one steering lever off until it drags the engine down. This will scuff any rust off the discs, and build up heat to dry out any moisture.

I have heard it enough times to believe that it does work. I like you am unsure if I like the idea due to pressure on springs and such, but if you have no other alternative?!?!? Unless the crawler is stored outside and seldom used, I do not think it will become an issue if it is driven once a month ...

Not sure where you got the info, but the cam pumps were never rated for that. At that pressure you would be breaking lots of things in the system. Maximum pressure with the cam pumps is not much over 1000PSI.

Normally there is not much that can be done to them. As long as the detent balls are working, and everything looks good, I would probably leave unless you are just having fun.

Nothing to it, just a few minutes. I might have a used shaft left, I can put together new ones as well if need be.

Your valve may not even have a bypass, be sure to check that. Also, most valves will not go below 1500PSI, and you should only be running 1000 PSI.
I would check and make sure all of the hyd system is working correctly, then see if the cylinder works right.

No, it will not have the mounting holes for dash and battery and such unless it came off of a very late 420.
Center sections are not that hard to come by, so no reason to fight with the wrong part.
