Re: BAD Diesel HELP

Happened to me once. After siphoning all I could, I used an electrical fuel pump hooked to a hose with a copper tube extension to get all I could out. Was on a slight incline, so all was shifted to one side which made it easy. Unhooked lines, cleaned filter, pressurized the tank and began reconnecti...

Re: Fuel Priming

That was exactly the issue! Knowledge is a marvellous thing! I had even called a local Dealer and that must not have occurred to him. I will post the Model next time! After 4 days of aggravation I can't thank you enough! :D Richard These folks are sharp. I have a later model 450G, most posts cover ...

Lincoln Weldanpower G8000 w/Onan 16hp

Hoping for the off-chance that someone may have one of these units and can snap a photo of the wiring for the run/start/stop and turtle/rabbit switches. I have a unit that was SMASHED by a huge pine tree that I am repairing. All the rest is repaired, but those switches look like a grenade hit them a...

Re: '73 - 450B Crawler/Loader/Hoe Restoration

Al, what exactly do you mean when you talk about relief holes and "BANG" when it jumps the sprocket from snow? Was snow building up inside the link and making your track skip teeth on the sprocket and you drilled holes in the shoes as a clean-out of sorts? How big of a hole did you have them cut, h...

Re: '73 - 450B Crawler/Loader/Hoe Restoration
I don't like the idea of having uneven overhang of pad relative to the center of the chain.
Oh, I was thinking cut to exact size you were looking for. I couldn't find ANY new shoes for mine with relief holes cut, so I had them plasma cut the trap holes. Works great for me! No more B...

FYI, everyone seems to be 'out of stock" of the narrow single full height dozer pads. Anyone know someone who's got the goods?

Re: '73 - 450B Crawler/Loader/Hoe Restoration

Hey Al, At first I thought Berco was a company but then realized it was a brand of track. "North American Track" carries Berco and I'm working with them on quotes. They were more expensive than AMS but I just emailed them again to see if their SALT chain was outfitted with the master "LINK" vs "PIN...

Try these folks. They did me well. https://www.tracksnteeth.com/
Did you buy SALT for a 450 from them? Do you remember how much they ran?
I bought my SALT tracks from Berco about 11 years ago. Bought my sprockets from Berco too at the same time, but they were not very "finished", ...

Do you or anyone else know of a better, cheaper source for track chain and other undercarriage parts? I'm looking at replacing almost the entire undercarriage on this project

Score!
