How do I remove the starter from a MC crawler? What Gauge of wire should go from the battery to the starter? Is that part on the outside of the starter available from JD? The part I am talking about is the one which you pull the handle to engage the starter, ie the switch?

You have to remove the RH side of the batter sheetmetal, then there is a set screw that holds the starter in. Wire should be at least #1 copper.
Switch is readily available from Deere or elsewhere.

Thanks lavoy for the help. I pulled the starter this weekend. FYI- you don't completely have to remove the RH side sheet metal as I had the hydraulic valves in the way to prevent total removal. YOu can slide the sheet metal towards the seat to create enough room to pull the starter.

Matt,
I should have told you that, sorry, wasn't thinking about the valve.
