440 Crawler Tools

Post by Roger440IC » Wed Jun 11, 2008 12:18 am

Hi, does anyone know where I might find a 3/4" drive crow foot wrench for the track adjusters (2-1/4") and a grease gun fitting for the button fittings on the rollers? Thanks, Roger

Snap-On or Mac might have the wrench, I have the grease gun ends on hand.

Wow...I just logged on to see if anyone knew where I could find the "button" grease fitting. How do I buy one?

Send Lavoy an e-mail and your address, when he has your stuff ready he will give you a price and you can pay by credit card from this site.

Are you sure you need the crow foot wrench? I couldn't find individual crow feet for sale - only sets. I just adjusted my tracks on a 420c using a 1 1/2" combination wrench that I bought for $9 and change from Tractor Supply. Northern Tool also has inexpensive large size, good quality wrenches (and crow feet sets). I used a pipe wrench and a 3/4" drive 1 1/2" socket and double nuts as part of my solution with a lot of oil, some heat, grease, sweat, and swearing. Good luck.

Another possibility that just struck me is to get an offset open end wrench at some plave like Harbor Freight tools. I have a name brand one that I bought for using on the 420/430 that is small and light. On a 440, you will want something big and heavy though.

I picked up 4 Diamond Tool and Horseshoe wrenches at an estate sale. The jaws on these things are 90degrees to the handle and they are adjustable. Plus, the handle is smooth so you can put a little cheater on it.
Here is one on Ebay that is similar.

They work great for my 440IC!
