Can you switch sprockets from side to side to help them wear more even?

If you do a search on this bulletin board, I know there was a pretty long thread about "rotating" sprockets and whether extensive use in reverse would affect the opinion for "sprocket rotation". I think we had the discussion back in 2006 or 2007.
(1) JD Straight 450 crawler dozer with manual outside blade; (2) JD 2010 diesel crawler loaders; (1) JD 2010 diesel dozer with hydraulic 6-way blade; (2) Model 50 backhoe attachments, misc. other construction equipment
