Quill Removal

Post by Van » Wed Oct 01, 2008 12:57 pm

:?
I have a 420 and need to replace the transmission seals behind the steering throw out bearings. Lavoy provided some good advice on purchasing the seals. But now my delemmia is how to remove the quill once the throw ot bearing and the six quill bolts are removed. I am very hesitant to pry it because it is cast. Any advice on how to remove the quill will be greatly appreciated.

there should be a couple of threaded holes across from each other or they mite be in the quill bolt holes them self and may be full of rust or other crap and hard to see. i believe they are 1/2 or 9/16 use like a puller.
