I am new to john deere crawlers, I am looking at one that is on www.tractorshed.com he is asking 2500 and wants 500 for deleviery he said that the undercarriage is fair useable is it a decent deal like I said I am totally new to this and am looking for one to restore with my father. Thankyou.

Hi Jacob-

I didn't see a 420 crawler on there- just an MC crawler for that price in Iowa.

It will help you to read a little bit of the archives on here and see the pros and cons for each model crawler. If you then have some specific questions, you will find some knowledgeable guys on here about them and can give you some feedback. Current condition of the crawler and parts availability for that model crawler always has to be a consideration on restoration of older crawlers (unless you have money to burn). it would be best to find someone knowledgeable about crawlers to go look at it with you.

Jacob , looked around there and found three 420's and a 430C for sale Would help to know which one exactly you are looking at . Dan
