cutout relay for MC

Post by snoopy » Mon Nov 24, 2008 4:29 pm

Does anyone know of a source for a cutout relay other than John Deere?

Thanks

Deere doesn't have them any more that I know of. No one is making a direct replacement at this time. It is on my to do list, but the list is bigger than my available time unfortunately.

Thanks Lavoy , I think I can jury rig mine to work. It has lost its internal ground for the shunt coil. It failed about 6 years ago and John Deere wanted 100.00 at that time so I put in a 25 amp aviation circuit breaker, but I have to pull it every time when I shut it down. Thouhgt I would fix it right.

Bob,
Now that I think about it more, what I did on one in the past is get a cutout from whatever tractor, and spot weld it to the original mounting plate.

Older Harleys (pre '64 anyway) used such. If you can't source one through a more conventional source. '65 & later went to 12v & a regulator for sure.
