No Longer Avaliable From Deere But You Can Get The .020 Over Rings ????? The Standard Sleeve Decks 525.00 And 93.00 ?? For Each Standard Piston.. Any Other Ideas???? Also How Do You Do A Compression Test On The 1010 Diesel Engine ??? What Tools Are Required???

If someone is quoting you that price on new parts, buy them, and quit looking for pistons. Sleeve decks are just under a $1000 here, pistons with rings and wrist pins are about $200/each.
I just checked on a gas rebuild kit for a guy, and I think it was in the $2300 range, I doubt diesel is much cheaper.

Lavoy, my 1010 diesel needs the sleeve deck so i priced one out at the local deere dealer, it was $550. that was about a month ago.

I bought two of them in the past year - both around $500 new. But, that's only for the plate that fits both the 1010 diesel and the 2010 gas (AT15761). I suspect an outfit in China was making them, and thus the cheaper price. Maybe they were more willing to reproduce a part that fits multiple tractors and engines. A 1010 gas plate (AT12215) only fits a 1010 gas, and a 2010 diesel plate (AT15762) only fits a 2010 diesel - and subsequently, they cost twice what the other plate costs and are more scarce. The only one I've ever come across in Chinese databases is the cheaper one.

I will have to check on that. I guess I had only priced the 1010 gas, and 2010 diesel. I would still buy it, next go around, I doubt they will be that cheap.
I have never found the Chinese ones John's talking about, but have not really searched for them either. What is the quality on them?
