2010 fuel problem?

Post by chet » Wed Apr 08, 2009 8:17 am

Dozer starts right up but runs like it has a miss, and it really lacks power. Cracking each one of the injectors does make differance though. AS it runs every once and a while there will be a pretty good puff of black smoke and then for a couple of seconds it seems to run great. Am I looking at an injection pump problem?

Other than checking the obvious, i.e. good supply of air-free fuel getting to the pump - remember that the pumps on 1010s and 2010s all have a piece of plastic that self-destructs over time, regardless of use. You have to check that first. Pull either the timing window off, or the top cover and check for small bits of debris that look like mouse turds.
