covert manual to hyd 6 way

Post by ljcpwalker » Sat Apr 11, 2009 4:55 pm

Has anyone tried adding hydraulic cylinders to change thier manual 6 way blade to a hydraulic 6 way? I was thinking about how to do it, any input?

You could make it hydraulic tilt, but the blade would have to be hinged in the center for hydraulic angle. The way the manual setup works you have to change the hinge pin to a different hole at the same time you extend one of the arms.

The outside frame blade on the 58 440IC I just bought has a center hinge pin. my big problem is that it has a homemade blade on it I would need to find a tiltable blade to put on it If I decide the crawler is salvageable!! I am going to get the engine running and then see what else I have. It definitely needs at least one top roller and both tracks.

I've been looking at some pictures of mine (I'm at a camp job until wed when i can go home) and think i may try to leave it as a manual angle but try to put a hyd cyl on it for tilt as the blade doesnt like to stay level no matter how hard i hammer the pins in.

If by pins, you mean wedges, that piece is not meant to slide all the time. If you put a cylinder on there, it will eventually break the tilt piece, and they are basically unobtainable.
