My 2010 crawler

Post by royboy » Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:55 am

I have a 2010 crawler ... hobby use only... last summer it started losing power after running for 10 to 15 minutes... asked around for help and was told it was most likely fuel problems (deisel) or injectors.. so changed filter and did some cleaning... still had problems... then I found water in the oil.. tried to find some one to look at it .. but no luck.. so I just decided to check it out.. head gasket looked ok.. and didn't see any cracks in the head... so what do I do next????Image[

Not sure if I did the pictures correct..

Thanks for any help!!!

Thanks for the idea about sleeve seals... how did you decide it was the seal and how big a job was it to replace them???

Thanks again...

You can pull the pan on the engine and should be able to see if there is anti-freeze coming around the bottom of the sleeve. You may need to pressurize the cooling system as well.

Thank you Lavoy...

I have already pulled the head ... thinking it was the gasket.. as a beginner I am not sure where to go next ??? should I pressure test the head first or presume it is the seals or a crack in the block??

Not sure it will every run again.. but having fun playing with it!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

If you have the head pulled off I would probably take it in and have it magna fluxed just to be sure.

Thanks again!!!
