440 track question

Post by jeff Kemp » Sat Jul 11, 2009 2:58 am

When moving dirt specifically going forward I am having a track issue. When I lower the blade to dig in and the front of the tracks come up the rollers seem to slip to the side of the track chain on the left track. The tracks are in really good condition and it has a new sprocket. I checked the rollers and they look good. I have to get the track really tight to stop this from happening. Any idea what is causing this? How tight should these tracks be? Mine is a 5 roller 440 IC. I had a 420 5 roller before with a loader and I never gad this problem. Thanks in advance.

Jeff

further inspection of my tracks found that the bearings in the final appear to be going bad. Will the sprocket being lose make the track chain run off the rollers?

Depending on how loose it is, it won't help it any. The sprocket gets an angle too it that might cause the track to jump the rear roller.
