Bushing removal/installation

Post by Yellow420 » Thu Oct 08, 2009 8:11 am

I have a 420C that has a very loose upper track idler. I see that the bushings and seal are available from John Deere and I am wondering how do you replace the bushings without a press?(if it is possible) The local salvage place has some used assemblies...but they are not cheap. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Get a bushing driver set, not expensive, even Harbor Freight has them.

use your freezer, it doesn't take much to srink the bushings alittle and make the job go better.
